The Avondale Flea Market has served the Harare community for over 25 years. It has also incubated businesses for more than one generation of entrepreneurs, including single parents who needed to find a place to launch their small businesses. The flea market management has had an active role in assisting many of these vendors over the years. For example, the now flourishing arts and crafts section began with management providing free space and transport for vendors until they established themselves with their strong customer base including tourists.
